Tuanku Muhriz Reciprocal Travelling Fellowship 2026

  

An International Training Opportunity in the United Kingdom

The College of Physicians Malaysia (COPM), in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) and MAAIMUSS, invites applications for the Tuanku Muhriz Reciprocal Travelling Fellowship 2026.


This prestigious fellowship offers a Malaysian physician the opportunity to undertake a two-week clinical attachment in the United Kingdom, gaining valuable exposure in Geriatric Medicine, with opportunities to observe Acute Medicine and/or Palliative Care Medicinein a recognised UK teaching hospital.

  

About the Fellowship

The Tuanku Muhriz Reciprocal Travelling Fellowship aims to:

  • Enhance  clinical knowledge and professional development
  • Strengthen academic and clinical collaboration between Malaysia and the UK
  • Promote international best practices in internal medicine


The Fellowship is overseen by a Steering Committee comprising representatives from RCPE, COPM, and MAAIMUSS.

Fellowship Duration & Travel Window

  

Clinical Attachment Duration: Two (2) weeks

Approved Travel Window: Sunday, 12 July 2026 – Sunday, 2 August 2026

Travel must take place after the award is made and within the approved window. Retrospective travel will not be considered 

Eligibility Criteria

  

Applicants must:

  • Be a registered medical specialist in Malaysia
  • Be a current member of the College of Physicians Malaysia (COPM)
  • Be a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK)
  • Demonstrate strong professional standing and commitment to advancing internal medicine in Malaysia
  • Be able to obtain approval for leave from their employer or line manager

Fellowship Benefits

  

The selected Fellow will receive:

  • Return economy air travel to the United Kingdom
  • Accommodation support for the duration of the fellowship
  • Clinical attachment at a recognised UK teaching hospital
  • Supervision and mentorship by senior UK physicians
  • Access to ward rounds, departmental meetings, teaching sessions, and academic activities
  • A  Certificate of Completion jointly awarded by COPM and the      partnering UK institution
  • Opportunities for continued academic collaboration and future joint initiatives

  • Applications Open: 17 December 2025
  • Application Closing Date: 5 February 2026
        (Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.)

Applicants must submit:

  • A completed official application form (electronic signature accepted)
  • A brief Curriculum Vitae (maximum two A4 pages, Calibri font size 11 or larger)
  • Written responses to the application questions (maximum 200 words per section)
  • Declaration confirming eligibility and compliance with Fellowship Terms &  Conditions
